Bank of America Volunteers Serve Our Daily Bread
Our Daily Bread was grateful to receive assistance from the Bank of America Volunteer Team this month. The volunteers were there early in the morning, ready to help prepare the meals, then continued working to serve the meal – all the time smiling!
The Bank of America Volunteer Team devoted four days to helping this month and we are ever so grateful for their generous support and time. Community service at its best! Not only that, Bank of America has been holding employee fundraising drives since September to provide backpacks with basic necessities for the clients of Our Daily Bread.
H&R Block Gets Schools Growing
H&R Block Corporate Volunteering, in partnership with CHRISTUS School Based Clinics, has helped establish the School Based Clinics Garden Project at five area schools – St. Francis of Assisi, Resurrection, St. Christopher, St. Pius and Our lady of Mt. Carmel – all of which are served by CHRISTUS School Based Clinics.
Working alongside students and School Based Clinic administrators, H&R Block employees helped teach kids the value of eating well and the pride that comes along with tending to one's own garden.
In total, 21 H&R Block volunteers contributed nearly 50 hours to this project. CHRISTUS Nurse Practitioners and Angela Joseph, CHRISTUS Program Director are especially grateful to all at H&R Block who helped make the School Based Clinics Garden Project possible.
