It was a busy day at McAdams Junior High as staff from Dickinson Independent School District (DISD) gathered to register new 6th graders. CHRISTUS Foundation School Based Clinics collaborated with the school's nurse to provide the many immunizations needed at this point in each student’s life.
Dr. Rachel Anne Golin, a pediatrician with Baylor College of Medicine, is the most recent recipient of the Hitoshi Nikaidoh, M.D. Memorial Award. The Nikaidoh award fund was created to allow qualified candidates such as Dr. Golin to participate in medical mission work, both domestically and in foreign countries. CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare salutes Dr. Golin for her service to those in need.
In fulfillment of the award, Dr. Golin traveled to Ghana, West Africa in April of 2011. While in Ghana, she helped direct care for newborns, children and families at the Baptist Medical Centre. Her story – and photos from her journey – are featured here.

Political pundits James Carville and Mary Matalin headlined this year's Spring Luncheon, which honored longtime CHRISTUS friends Anna Marie and Harold Hidalgo, Sr. The success of the annual luncheon is attributed to co-chairs, Ginny and Dennis Malloy and James and Patricia Banfill.

On the morning of February 23, 2011, guests gathered at the Moran Health Center to hear from Dr. Steve Murdock, an expert on socioeconomic and population trends impacting the Houston area and the nation. Dr. Murdock is Director, Hobby Center for the Study of Texas and Allyn and Gladys Cline Professor, Department of Sociology, Rice University.
On Saturday, October 16, 2010, a record number of riders turned out for our 10th Annual Nun Run – a fifty-mile, Blue Knight police-escorted motorcycle ride from Houston to Galveston. 2010 Nun Run proceeds benefit the children and families of CHRISTUS school based clinics.

Designed by world-renowned Morris Architects, the "Moran Health Center," stands as an impressive, enduring testament to the continuing advancement of CHRISTUS Foundation's mission.
Friends and supporters gathered at Reef restaurant on July 21, 2009 as we celebrated two important events in the life of our Midtown Health Center. First and foremost, the center was formally christened the W.T. and Louise J. Moran Health Center, John S. Dunn Building, in recognition of the two cornerstone gifts making the center possible. Second, attendees celebrated the topping-out of the three-level structure.
Bikers and nuns were all the rage on October 18 at the 2008 Nun Run. Over 140 bikers, friends, and supporters joined us at the Villa de Matel for breakfast, live music, and a blessing of the bikes; they then rode off to Sudie’s Catfish and Seafood House for lunch and awards. More than $91,000 was raised to benefit CHRISTUS Southwest Community Health Center.
