Nipa has been a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2003. She completed her graduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has practiced in several specialties including internal medicine and physical medicine and rehabilitation.
While working with a hospitalists group at Detroit Receiving Hospital, she cared for many patients suffering from diabetes, hypertension, heart failure, and other preventable illnesses. She saw first hand the devastating effect these illnesses have on individuals and their families as years of uncontrolled illness ultimately led them to severe complications such as stroke, heart attack, kidney failure, and amputations.
Nipa chose to redirect her practice towards disease prevention and health promotion. She focuses her care on helping people stay healthy and prevent illnesses and associated complications. She is targeting children because they have the most to gain from living healthy.
