Moran Health Center Blessing and Dedication Event Recap
February 6, 2010 was a glorious day; and the crisp breezes, bright sunshine and high blue sky were only the beginning. It was on this Saturday that CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare welcomed hundreds to the Grand Opening of the new W.T. and Louise J. Moran Health Center/John S. Dunn Building, located in Midtown Houston.

Sold-Out Luncheon Features Keynote Speaker Laura Bush
Mrs. Laura W. Bush was the keynote speaker at the 6th Annual Spring Luncheon held on Wednesday, March 10, 2010. A sold-out crowd of more than 540 joined the Foundation to honor Lorraine and Ted Dinerstein and to hear from Mrs. Bush. Luncheon proceeds will benefit children’s programs supported by CHRISTUS Ministries.

2009 Nun Run Video
On Saturday, October 17, 2009, thousands of riders took part in the 5th Anniversary Nun Run. Proceeds from this event benefited the CHRISTUS Foundation fo HealthCare. The Blue Knight police-escorted motorcycle ride from Houston to Galveston began with breakfast at the Villa de Matel (the Sisters’ Motherhouse) and concluded in Galveston at Fisherman’s Warf.

CHRISTUS Point of Light Clinic Expands to Full-time
In response to the growing number of unemployed, uninsured and under insured families, CHRISTUS Health has expanded the clinic hours for CHRISTUS Point of Light Clinic in Dickinson. The Clinic is staffed by a family practice physician who offers an array of health services at affordable costs.
Point of Light Clinic is now open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and offers an after hours clinic on Tuesday until 6:00 p.m. and on Wednesdays until 7:00 p.m. You may call to set an appointment and walk-ins are welcome.

CHRISTUS Foundation Receives Gift for CHRISTUS Health Center
CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare gives sincere thanks to Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P. who has pledged to contribute a $75,000 gift designated to the new CHRISTUS Health Center.
We deeply appreciate this generous contribution from Fulbright & Jaworski which will enable CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare to continue the mission of extending the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.

Barnes & Noble Book Drive
Barnes & Noble Booksellers in the Galleria hosted a book drive and chose CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare Kids as the recipient. More than 300 books were collected with an estimated total donation of $1500.00. The books will be distributed to each of the children’s ministries supported by the Foundation. We are very thankful to Barnes and Noble for choosing our Children’s ministries as their book drive recipient and we are also very thankful to all of the generous Barnes and Noble’s customers who gave book donations this Christmas.

Join us on Saturday, October 16, 2010 for a fifty-mile, Blue Knight police-escorted motorcycle ride from Houston to Galveston. The 2010 Nun Run benefits the children and families of CHRISTUS school-based clinics. Your donation will help provide flu vaccines, health education and screenings, back-to-school supplies and the promise of a brighter Christmas.
Non-riders can participate by pledging or donating gifts in support of the adventurous nuns. Proceeds directly benefit the children and families cared for by CHRISTUS ministries. There will be awards, prizes, breakfast, lunch and rides! Sidecars welcome.
