In response to the growing number of unemployed, uninsured and under insured families, CHRISTUS Health has expanded the clinic hours for CHRISTUS Point of Light Clinic in Dickinson. The Clinic is staffed by a family practice physician who offers an array of health services at affordable costs.
Point of Light Clinic is now open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and offers an after hours clinic on Tuesday until 6:00 p.m. and on Wednesdays until 7:00 p.m. You may call to set an appointment and walk-ins are welcome.

Barnes & Noble Booksellers in the Galleria hosted a book drive and chose CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare Kids as the recipient. More than 300 books were collected with an estimated total donation of $1500.00. The books will be distributed to each of the children’s ministries supported by the Foundation. We are very thankful to Barnes and Noble for choosing our Children’s ministries as their book drive recipient and we are also very thankful to all of the generous Barnes and Noble’s customers who gave book donations this Christmas.

Due to the successful fundraising efforts of the CHRISTUS Foundation’s 2008 Spring Luncheon, a new Mobile Clinic was purchased to replace the existing sixteen year old unit. The new 40-foot GMC Lifeline vehicle offers preventative health screenings and influenza vaccinations to residents in Harris, Brazoria and Montgomery counties. On board the CHRISTUS Mobile Clinic are two registered nurses and one medical assistant whom is also the official driver of the Clinic on Wheels.
The blessing and dedication of the new mobile health clinic was held on July 21, 2008 and presided over by Archbishop Emeritus Joseph A. Fiorenza.

CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare broke ground on the new CHRISTUS Health Center on Thursday, November 6, 2008. The ceremony was officiated by His Eminence Daniel Cardinal DiNardo, D.D., S.T.L., who stressed the importance of building a new clinic in the Midtown area. Representatives from CHRISTUS Health, San José Clinic, Catholic Charities, and the John S. Dunn Foundation, were all on hand to break ground.
The three story, 55,000 square foot medical office building is scheduled to open in the winter of 2009, and will house San José Clinic and CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare offices.
