CHRISTUS Our Daily Bread recently celebrated its 25th Anniversary with a special Blessing and Rededication. The event was held on March 16, 2011 at Our Daily Bread, located at 2420 Winnie in Galveston, Texas.

The day's celebration included a welcome from Les Cave, President of CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare, and a Blessing and Rededication by Most Reverend Joseph A. Fiorenza, D.D., Archbishop Emeritus Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Guests participated in prayer, songs of praise and enjoyed refreshments.

We are blessed with a professional team of counselors and social workers who offer the much needed counseling and referral for addiction and mental illness issues. We are also blessed with exceptional associates and volunteers, who lovingly offer their expertise in providing daily care for our clients. We work together to create an environment of hope and healing for people in need.

A Mission of Healing
The Mission of CHRISTUS Our Daily bread is to minister to the person who is homeless in such a way that God's love and compassion will be experienced by all.

We commit ourselves to uphold the dignity of each person by providing programs to help break the cycle of homelessness; encouraging and empowering those seeking help to make positive choices to seek treatment for mental, emotional or addictive disorders, and to develop a plan of action and a network of community support.

Toward this purpose, we provide nutrition, personal hygiene, clothing, medical evaluation, referral and education.

To promote wholeness and healing, we endeavor to offer these services in an environment of hope, caring and peace, instilling dignity at all levels of service.
