February 6, 2010 was a glorious day; and the crisp breezes, bright sunshine and high blue sky were only the beginning. It was on this Saturday that CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare welcomed hundreds to the Grand Opening of the new W.T. and Louise J. Moran Health Center/John S. Dunn Building, located in Midtown Houston.
Activities and festivities included a blessing of the center's St. Joseph and Christ Child Statue, words from the center's leadership and collaborators, tours and a Blessing and Dedication of the Health Center by His Eminence Daniel Cardinal DiNardo, D.D., S.T.L.
A collaboration of Houston’s historic San José Clinic, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, and CHRISTUS Foundation, the new center is a major, multi-service health complex, offering primary and specialized medical services, dental care, mental-health counseling and literacy-education programs Houston’s uninsured and underserviced.
Under one roof, these pioneering faith-based nonprofit organizations will provide Houston’s uninsured with the compassionate healing and healthcare. This project was made possible thanks to gracious, ongoing support from the W.T. and Louise J. Moran Foundation, the John S. Dunn Research Foundation and a host of spirited donors.
