Reaching out to Serve the Bay Area
Working closely with CHRISTUS St. John Hospital, and with staff volunteers that included the hospital’s medical director, CHRISTUS Point of Light Clinic opened quietly in 1989 and provided very limited services, during only a handful of hours, for nearly a decade.
In 1997 the clinic relocated to 1266 Dickinson Avenue and expanded to offer services on weekdays, with care principally given by a small staff under the direction of a physician’s assistant.
Point of Light Clinic has a new face and feel as it moves into the second half of 2009.
Today Point of Light has a new, larger location, and is staffed by both fulltime and volunteer physicians, physicians assistants, nurses and clerical staff, and sees increasing numbers of patients month to month. The clinic is open all day, every weekday. Moreover, CHRISTUS Point of Light has warmly welcomed its first full-time, family-practice physician, Sister Ricca Dimalibot, M.D., in 2009.
By extending its hours of operation and adding a fulltime physician, the clinic now provides better and more care to underserved families in of the Bay Area.

2010 Nun Run

Join us on Saturday, October 16, 2010 for a fifty-mile, Blue Knight police-escorted motorcycle ride from Houston to Galveston. The 2010 Nun Run benefits the children and families of CHRISTUS school-based clinics. Your donation will help provide flu vaccines, health education and screenings, back-to-school supplies and the promise of a brighter Christmas.
Non-riders can participate by pledging or donating gifts in support of the adventurous nuns. Proceeds directly benefit the children and families cared for by CHRISTUS ministries. There will be awards, prizes, breakfast, lunch and rides! Sidecars welcome.
