Directed by Sister Rosanne Popp, M.D., the new CHRISTUS St. Mary’s Clinic provides a number of vital healthcare services to patients in an under-served Houston community near Interstate 45 South and Wayside Drive. St. Mary's also serves as homebase for the CHRISTUS Healthy Neighborhoods Initiative.
Care for Chronic and Acute Conditions
CHRISTUS St. Mary’s helps patients manage a variety of conditions such as:
- Diabetes
- High blood pressure
- High cholesterol
- Gastritis
- Arthritis
- Depression
- Menstrual Problems
- Back and joint pain
- Bronchitis
- Minor injuries
- Thyroid, kidney, liver and heart disorders
Additionally, CHRISTUS St. Mary’s provides a number of health checks including Pap smears, blood tests for cholesterol, diabetes, as well as thyroid, liver and kidney functions. Referrals for vision checks, mammograms and other specialty services are available.
Homebase for the CHRISTUS Healthy Neighborhoods Initiative
The CHRISTUS Healthy Neighborhoods Initiative combines the power of three CHRISTUS Foundation ministries to deliver a full spectrum of care to families for whom medical care is often deemed an unaffordable luxury. CHRISTUS St. Mary’s Clinic is located in close proximity to many CHRISTUS School Based Clinics, as well as near routes frequented by the CHRISTUS Healthy Living Mobile Clinic. Together these ministries are building on each other’s strengths for more comprehensive patient care.
