Wee See Program

The CHRISTUS Wee See Vision Program originated in 1993. Through Wee See, disadvantaged students in Clear Creek Independent School District, Dickinson ISD and Katy ISD are given access to eye exams and corrective lenses, helping them improve their vision and see the world from a new perspective.

Focusing On An Essential Need

Maintaining good vision is important for everyone at any age. It’s especially critical for children, for whom the ability to see clearly contributes to developmental, emotional and physical well-being and helps them to participate fully in educational activities. In many cases, children aren’t able to recognize when they’re having vision problems, which is when teachers and other school officials often step in.

But even with the recognition of the problem, many families are unable to pay for the vision exams and corrective lenses that can make such a big difference in children's lives. That's where the Wee See program steps in. Children are frequently referred to Wee See by teachers, school nurses and counselors. Families then pay for exams and lenses at deeply discounted rates, based on the ability to pay.
