CHRISTUS School Clinic Providers
Mary Gallant earned her Associates Degree in Nursing at Wharton County Junior College and her Bachelor of Science at Texas Tech University, graduating Cum Laude. In August 2015, Mary began her path in education and will graduate with a Master of Science in Nursing with Emphasis in Leadership in Healthcare Systems in May 2017.
While overseeing the school clinics, Mary provides guidance to her medical assistants while making sure the daily logistics of the clinics run smoothly. She provides education to staff, students, and parents regarding different topics related to: Blood Borne Pathogens, EpiPen, Hygiene, Germs, Healthy Living, Telemedicine, and CHRISTUS Health School Consents.
Mary’s favorite part of working at CHRISTUS School Clinics is her ability to make a difference in so many young lives within the different communities of Houston. “I believe with all of CHRISTUS Health departments we are creating healthier communities and healthier lives.”
Some of Mary’s favorite hobbies are being with friends and family while boating, golfing, or fishing. She also enjoys time in her flower beds.
Vanessa Lopez R.N., B.S.N., CHRISTUS School Clinics
Vanessa Lopez attended University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas. Where she earned a Bachelors in Nursing. Vanessa is responsible for overseeing nine inner-city school clinics in the Houston area and assisting medical assistants in keeping the clinics organized and running efficiently. Vanessa also works closely with the principals and school faculty to provide educational opportunities to students about health and wellness.
Vanessa’s favorite part of her job is empowering and educating students to take control of their health. “It is an awesome privilege to come into work every day knowing that CHRISTUS School Clinics are helping families and kids receive medical care at little to no cost.”
In Vanessa’s free time, she enjoys traveling, decorating, drinking coffee, and spending time with her family.
